Andrew made the step into directing for film and television via a first-class honours degree in animation. His National Film & Television School graduation film Radiance, a supernatural thriller about a young woman with a dangerous condition, was nominated for best film at the BAFTA Scotland New Talent Awards while his claustrophobic psychological drama Beneath won Best Student Film at the Courant 3D festival in France.
In 2015 he was selected to direct Oakwood, a short drama exclusively for the BBC iPlayer. He also shot Kai, funded by i-D and VICE, which has been viewed well over one million times on social media. In 2017 directed the explosive 15th anniversary episodes of BBC Scotland’s River City and is currently prepping the second series of the university-set thriller Clique for BBC3.
Andrew is also developing two visceral feature films that reflect his taste for smart, entertaining and thrilling stories. He is represented by Sarah Williams at Independent Talent.
